Ted Smith
Ted studied English literature and East Asian studies at McGill University. After graduating, he moved to Seoul, South Korea, where he worked as a professional cheermaster in baseball and hockey. He published his first book, Famous, in 2015 through Magic House Publishing, Seoul. In the same year, he moved to Osaka, where he worked as an actor, model, and interpreter. In 2019, he launched his consulting career with the Nishitetsu Limited Corporation. He currently consults for dozens of companies in the United States, Canada, Japan and Korea. When he’s not doing business, he occasionally appears on NHK morning dramas as an actor.

テッドはマギル大学で英文学と東アジア研究を学びました。卒業後、韓国・ソウルに移り、プロ野球とアイスホッケーのチアマスターとして活躍。2015年にソウルのMagic House Publishingより初著書『Famous』を出版しました。同年大阪に移住し、俳優、モデル、通訳として活動を開始。2019年に西鉄株式会社にてコンサルティング事業をスタートさせ、現在はアメリカ・カナダ・日本・韓国で数十社の企業コンサルティングを手掛けています。ビジネス以外では、NHKの朝の連続テレビ小説に俳優として時折出演しています。
Oliver Jia
Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Oliver has worn a variety of hats throughout his time living and working in Japan. He first arrived in 2017 to work as an intern at a glass company in rural Yamaguchi Prefecture. After a year-long homestay in Kobe, he returned to the United States to finish university with conviction that he would be back in Japan before too long. From 2019, he specialized as a graduate researcher in Japan-Korean Peninsula relations at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto and worked remotely for the Seoul-based website NK News. He has additionally contributed commentary to esteemed outlets like The Spectator, The Japan Times, and The Dispatch. A cinephile and gamer at heart, he maintains connections to the video game industry and world of geopolitical commentary as a freelance writer. He regularly uploads pieces to his Substack, Foreign Perspectives.
オリバー・ジア
ペンシルベニア州ピッツバーグ出身のオリバーは、日本での生活・仕事を通じてさまざまな経験を積んできました。2017年に山口県のガラスメーカーでインターンとして来日。神戸での1年間のホームステイを経て一旦帰国し、大学を卒業後「必ず日本に戻る」と決意しました。 2019年より立命館大学大学院にて日韓関係を専門に研究するとともに、ソウル拠点のNK Newsでリモート勤務。The Spectator、The Japan Times、The Dispatchなど権威あるメディアに寄稿しています。映画とゲームをこよなく愛する彼は、フリーランスライターとしてゲーム業界や地政学分野にも繋がりを持ち、Substack「Foreign Perspectives」に定期的に記事を執筆しています。
